KWA Gas & Energy Company Limited has recorded a major breakthrough in Nigeriaβs energy and transportation sector after signing a strategic partnership agreement with Chinaβs Guangzhou Yishun New Energy Vehicle Sales Co., Ltd. to introduce Ruchi Electric Vehicles into the Nigerian market.
The landmark agreement officially appointed KWA Mobility, a subsidiary of KWA Gas & Energy Company Limited, as the exclusive distributor of Ruchi Electric Vehicles in Nigeria, positioning the indigenous company at the forefront of the countryβs transition to electric mobility.
Speaking during the signing ceremony in Abuja, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KWA Gas & Energy Company Limited, Engr. Otoabasi Ntiah, said the partnership reflects the companyβs commitment to driving innovation, creating employment opportunities, and expanding access to cleaner, more affordable transportation across Nigeria.
Ntiah, who is also the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency seat in the 2027 Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly election, disclosed that KWA Mobility would establish a nationwide sales network, develop after-sales support services, expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and build local technical capacity through the training of Nigerian engineers and automobile technicians.
He added that the partnership is only the beginning of KWA Gas & Energyβs broader vision of collaborating with leading multinational companies to attract more investment, technology, innovation and business opportunities to Esit Eket, Ibeno, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Chinese delegation, led by the Chief Executive Officer of Guangzhou Yishun New Energy Vehicle Sales Co., Ltd., Colin Donate, expressed confidence in Nigeriaβs growing electric mobility market and pledged comprehensive technical support, the supply of genuine spare parts, knowledge transfer, after-sales services and professional training to ensure the success of the partnership.
Also present at the meeting were the Chairman of KWA Gas & Energy Company Limited, Barr. Uduak Ukpe, and the Marketing Manager of Kwa Mobility, Engr. Ebenezer, who reaffirmed the companyβs readiness to deliver world-class electric mobility solutions to Nigerians.
Industry observers said the partnership is expected to contribute significantly to Nigeriaβs transportation and energy sectors by reducing dependence on fossil fuels, lowering transportation and logistics costs, creating employment opportunities and promoting environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
Engr. Otoabasi Ntiah, has consistently stated that attracting investors, forging partnerships with multinational companies and promoting industrial development will be among his priorities if elected.
