The people of Ukanafun Local Government Area witnessed another significant milestone in grassroots development as the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, commissioned a number of completed constituency projects executed across the local government area.
Represented by his wife, Dr. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, the Senate President commissioned the constituency projects and stated that they his unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life of his constituents through strategic investments in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and access to essential social amenities.
She further stated that Ukanafun Local Government Area held a special place in the heart of the Senate President and expressed profound appreciation to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for approving life-impacting constituency projects for members of the National Assembly across their respective constituencies.
According to her, the initiative has brought meaningful development to grassroots communities, improved the lives of the people, and reaffirmed the Renewed Hope Administration’s commitment to inclusive national development.
Dr. Akpabio emphasized that the commissioning of the projects demonstrated the Senate President’s determination to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in every community, irrespective of location, while reaffirming his dedication to people-oriented leadership and sustainable development.
The commissioned projects included the construction of a 12-Classroom Block at Community Secondary School, Afaha Obo; Community Secondary School, Nkek Anwa; Nkek Anwa Ukanafun Primary Health Centre; and the provision of pipe-borne water at the ICT Centre.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Area, Hon. Uyo Ukpanah, thanked the Senate President for his unwavering commitment to the development of Ukanafun through the execution of impactful constituency projects.
He described the commissioned projects as clear evidence of the Senate President’s passion for grassroots development and people-centred leadership, assuring that the people of Ukanafun would, in the 2027 General Elections, turn out en masse to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, and all APC candidates in the Local Government Area.
Several stakeholders, including the Senior Special Assistant to the Senate President on General Duties, Hon. Ubokobong Umoh; Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. NsikanAbasi Umoekpo; the Member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Emem Etokabasi Udom; the principals of the beneficiary schools; political leaders, government functionaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, party faithful, women, youths, and other residents, unanimously commended the Senate President for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to grassroots development. They described the commissioned projects as transformative interventions that would enhance education, healthcare, and the overall socio-economic well-being of the people of Ukanafun.
Earlier, Her Excellency, Dr. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, led her entourage on a courtesy visit to the Paramount Ruler of Ukanafun, His Royal Majesty, Engr. Amos Daniel Akpan, to receive royal blessings ahead of the commissioning of the constituency projects in the Local Government Area.
The Paramount Ruler welcomed the delegation and commended the Senate President for his unwavering commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Ukanafun.
