The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, says President Bola Tinubu has approved a timetable for state visits ahead of the 2027 election, with a campaign flag-off scheduled for October 24 in Kaduna.
Speaking after meeting the President at the Presidential Villa, Yari said the council’s inaugural meeting would hold on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall.
He said the mobilisation would move from Kaduna to Port Harcourt and Maiduguri, with the full itinerary to be released after the inauguration.
Yari also dismissed the prospects of opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi defeating President Tinubu, arguing that neither commands the support across northern and southern Nigeria needed to win the presidency.
According to Yari, the President has improved the economic situation he inherited, giving the party achievements to present to voters as it seeks another term.
He claimed Tinubu enjoys strong backing in more than ten states in each region, and said the APC would campaign on the administration’s record.
